I WORSHIP CHAOS - Children of Bodom

1. I Hurt
Bonus tracks
11. Mistress of Taboo (Plasmatics cover)
12. Danger Zone (Kenny Loggins cover)
13. Black Winter Day (Amorphis cover)

Comienza “I hurt”… ¡Bum!

¡Saludos!

ENGLISH:

Children of Bodom the melodic metal finnish band, have pleased us with his 9th and more recent album “I Worship Chaos” released in 2015 by Nuclear Blast Records. This album was produced by Peter Tägtgren (Hipocrisy) and Mikko Karmila in Helsinki, Finland; it’s the first album with four members since the guitarist Roope Latvalen leaves.

The art in the cover reminds us “Halo of Blood” with a faceless figurerounded by an atmospheric loneliness, trees in a dark place but now with a light color, in this case yellow. I consider “Halo of Blood” a significant work of the band, they recover and extract very usefull ideas that support the essence of Children of Bodom.

“I Hurt” starts and ¡Bum! this is Children, Alexi Laiho will not dissapoint us. From the first song we are noticed of the glowing presence of the melody joined with the gutural voice sometimes almost clean in a stand out way. Step by step the riffs are introduced that denote a energetic and live enviroment.

“My Bodom (I Am the Only One)” its a raw and brief song related to the thraser base that we love. The melody stand out in the keyboard; its a more basic song in therms of the structure, lyric and even speed.

The we hace a good contrast at the biggining of “Morrigan”, with a more calmed rhythm and a lot of melody in voice and instrumentation.

Children permeate us again with their style in “Horns”. We can note a blacker influence where the voice, riffs, melody and blast beat fits perfectly.

In “Praye for the Affected” the melodic assemble shines with chordal intentions that decorate efficiently and bautifully the song from the start to the end.

“I Worship Chaos” the song that gaves title to the album, show us technique, developement, speed and keyboard solos. Thay have an specific texture that take us to Death Metal.

It worth to mention in “Hold Your Tongue” that the band returns to Drop C# tuning in guitar thay did not use it since “Something Wild”. Because of that we can find dark, versatile and pleasant guitar solos in this two songs.

“All for Nothing” have a melancholic, strong, emotive and visceral feeling, a theme with great location in the álbum.
They close strongly with”Widdershins” it’s a song when the members feel like home, the remind us previous jobs with a strong and slightly different sound.

Bonus tracks are cover from Plasmatics, Kenny Loggins and Amorphis.

I recommend this album a lot, sometimes its hard to conceive some innovative ideas been a true fan, but we need to have a open mind to the change, to the evolution and adaptation but not conformed with what our great bands offer to us.

I will aprecciate your opinion, comment or suggestion !Greetings!
